Smilde Bakery sold the production and sales activities of their savoury biscuits to Euro Pātisserie.

The assortment of cheese biscuits which is produced in Mijdrecht, now will be produced by van Doorn Bakkerijen in Spijkenisse as from July 1st 2008., a daughter company of Euro Pātisserie.

Director Maiko van der Meer of Smilde Bakery about the sales:
“This specific assortment of luxury savoury biscuits does not fit well in our long term strategy and does not contribute to the efficiency and the profibility in this sector and enables to focus better on our core business activities

Director Frits Veldwijk of Euro Pātisserie is also satisfied about the transaction:
“These products are an excellent accomplishment of our product range of savoury products and machinery can be integrated very well in our plant and is a good accomplishment of the present situation in Spijkenisse”

Profile Smilde Bakery:
Smilde Bakery is part of the Royal Smilde Food Group in Heerenveen and one of the three Business Units is Smilde Bakery where patisserie- and bakery products, snacks and seasonal products are produced. Smilde Bakery owns factories and sales offices in France, Belgium, England and Germany.

Totally about 300 people are working in their bakeries.
